Every wrestler is placed where they'll grow — never rushed into more than they're ready for.
First-time wrestlers, grades K–1 (occasionally K–2 depending on the athlete). This is where kids learn stance, basic movement, safe falling, and how to follow a whistle before anything competitive is introduced — it's about comfort on the mat and following coach direction as much as technique.
Wrestlers with more experience get more official, refereed matches. This is the step up from Clinic, where kids start applying skills against outside competition rather than just teammates.
Our most experienced wrestlers. Team placement between White and Blue is determined by our coaching staff based on each wrestler's experience and readiness — not by grade alone.
No wrestler is ever forced into a match or tournament they aren't ready for.
Confidence and readiness come before competition. The program paces athletes to their own skill level — a second grader in their first season isn't grouped the same as a second grader who's wrestled for two years, even at the same grade level.
From zero-pressure scrimmages to our highest level of league competition.
King of the Mats — unofficial, no referees, no scores kept. Multiple matches happen at once across the mat against several other teams, feeling more like a supervised scrimmage than an event. Coaches actively watch and assist, sometimes stopping to correct positioning in real time. Zero pressure: kids can try a new move and lose without it "counting." A great low-pressure entry point — often a first-year wrestler's very first time facing an opponent from another town.
Official matches with referees — the first real taste of "counted" competition for most kids. Matchups are based on skill and aggression level, not just weight or age. Coaches from both sides work together beforehand to pair similar profiles. The bridge between in-house competition and full varsity-style competition.
The "varsity" of our youth program — our highest level of competition. Our top wrestlers compete for spots on this team; it's earned, not automatic. It signals to families and the wrestler that they're performing at the top tier of the program.

Get ready for the season with this preseason banger. No brackets — live skill-rated pairing puts every wrestler on the mat, fast.
Instead of traditional brackets, WAR Zone uses a skill-rating algorithm to pair wrestlers on-the-fly by age, weight, and skill. It runs like a revolving door — late arrivals and weigh-in shifts never ruin a bracket.
You'll be assigned a weigh-in time — and that's your time to wrestle. Times go out after registration and before the tournament starts, so you show up for your window instead of sitting in the gym all day.
Wrestlers weigh in and get a starting skill rating from age, weight, and experience. No bracket to wait on.
The algorithm pairs each wrestler with the closest available opponent on-the-fly. Ratings update after every bout.
Wrestlers keep cycling into the rotation. Show up late or shift weight — the revolving door just re-pairs you.

Your weigh-in time will be determined after registration and provided shortly before the tournament.
